Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation Awards Grant For Hungry Children

FAIRHOPE, AL – The Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community
Foundation of South Alabama, recently granted $2,500 to the Secret Meals For Hungry Children
Program, a trademark of the Alabama Credit Union Foundation.

“We thank the Fairhope Point Clear Community Foundation for selecting the Secret Meals For Hungry Children program as a recipient of their grant... with this support we will feed elementary age students in our local community throughout the weekend for the school year,” said Brittany Miller, South Alabama Area Branch Manager for Alabama Credit Union. This award will allow the Secret Meals For Hungry Children program to serve an additional school in the community, increasing the program reach by at least 30 children.

Across Alabama and Northwest Florida, the Secret Meals For Hungry Children Program provides 2,500 students with vitamin-fortified food packs. Each food pack contains two breakfasts, two lunches, and two snacks. All items include pull-tab containers, straw-penetrating juice boxes and bite-sized crackers. Best of all, the food packs are 3.5 pounds and can be easily carried in their backpacks.
